We are recruiting the next generation of engineers to join our multi-disciplinary team in developing on-board digital and photonic satellite communication products. You will be bringing the latest technologies to life in both an R&D environment and follow on satellite flight programmes delivering connectivity to the world. About us:

The Advanced Communication Products Team are part of a world-leading digital signal processing group providing equipment for modern communications satellites. Our products fly in a range of missions including telecommunications satellites, navigation constellations and space observatories beyond Earth orbit. We work with European colleagues and suppliers around the world, leveraging the most advanced technologies to deliver the best performance for our customers.

What you will be doing:

You will be working to ensure that a combination of photonics, optics and digital hardware components deliver future proof products to meet all of our customers’ needs. Team members acquire the full range of experiences expected of a qualified Product Engineer. Typical activities include:

  • Concept feasibility and generation of new ideas,
  • Development and management of digital and photonics technologies for on-board spacecraft processing
  • Design, simulation and analysis of highly integrated photonics, digital and RF devices and components
  • Laboratory prototyping of new technologies for new applications.

  • Candidates will require a bachelors degree with a minimum 2:1 in a relevant engineering or related discipline such as physics, electronic engineering, computer science or mathematics.
  • Initiative to find creative solutions to complex technical problems,
  • Desire to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary engineering team environment,
  • Quick learner, capable of absorbing a wide range of skills and expertise,
  • An ambition to push the boundaries of modern digital and photonics technologies
