A330 Aircraft Wing Production Operations and Business Placement (12 months)

What will you be doing? 

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for leading and supporting a variety of local projects and initiatives within the A330 wing manufacturing facility.

During your internship your time will be split between the wing assembly area, where all the major components of the wing structure are brought together, and the wing equipping facility where fuel systems and flying controls begin to be added to the metallic structure.

You will report directly to the Head of integration and enablement for the A330 program in Broughton and will work closely with the business’ senior leadership team allowing you to gain a valuable insight into the management and day-to-day running of a live production environment as well as being fully supported to continually develop your skills and knowledge within the A330 business.

The role will cover a wide range of topics, from digitalisation, lean methodologies and continuous improvement to resource management and environmental, health & safety requirements. Given the varied nature of the role, this is a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious and motivated individual to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, delivering value and gaining invaluable experience in an exciting and ever changing industry.

Tasks & Accountabilities:

In summary, you will be tasked and involved with the following:

• Tasks and activities related to Environmental, Health & Safety Improvements.
• Co-ordinating and driving business specific improvement projects.
• Leading and supporting local digitalisation initiatives.
• Interface with key stakeholders within the A330 Component Delivery Team.
• Support with the development and introduction of employee led improvement initiatives.
• Development & Training Opportunities
• Opportunity to gain an in-depth and detailed understanding of the wing manufacturing process. 
• Chance to work closely with all levels of the leadership team and gain a critical insight into the day-to-day and strategic management of the business.
• Opportunity to gain a greater awareness of policies and procedures regarding Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and personnel management.

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. 

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following; 

• Studying Business Management.
• Proficient use of IT equipment and digital processes
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate sometimes complex topics into a simple straight forward plan.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver change in line with the requirements of the project.
• Drive and tenacity to implement changes in line with Time, Cost and Quality. Must be willing to challenge and overcome obstacles at regular intervals.
