About us:

An opportunity has arisen to join the Airworthiness and Certification team for a 12-month internship.  This role is aimed at an engineering undergraduate looking for an interesting and challenging internship, wishing to gain unique experience of the airworthiness and certification processes for Airbus aircraft.

Airbus Internships

Do you want to gain valuable experience and take on responsibility from the start? Then apply for an internship at Airbus.

In the Airworthiness and Certification domain, we are responsible for exercising the privileges granted to Airbus by the International Airworthiness Authorities, which allow Airbus to design, build and fly our aircraft. We have a key role in ensuring the future of the company.

The Airworthiness and Certification domain is the bedrock of Airbus, ensuring the certification of Airbus products. Representing Airbus in airworthiness authority rulemaking initiatives led by the Authorities, we use our expertise to help shape the regulatory landscape for future aircraft.

We work across Airbus domains and interface with external parties such as suppliers, airlines and airworthiness authorities throughout the complete life cycle of each aircraft program.

What you will be doing:

During this internship you will be working within both the Continued Airworthiness team and the Certification Technical Directorate focusing mainly on the Airbus in the UK activities related to Wing Structure, Landing Gear and Fuel System.

Your day to day tasks could include the following:

  • Review and amendment of documentation covering modifications to our aircraft, including assessing regulations affected and the Airworthiness impact.
  • Analysis of in-service occurrence data and compilation of safety impacts and proposed solutions.
  • Leading discussions with Technical Experts within the company to gather information, assess Airworthiness impacts and agree the appropriate action.
  • Reporting the status of projects to the Airworthiness Authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Taking part in improvement projects within the teams and the wider Airworthiness network in Airbus

You will also have the chance to take part in initiatives outside your day to day tasks that will provide opportunities for personal development.

About you:

Please note, we love your interest in working for Airbus but we do ask that you make only one application. We encourage you to take time to decide which of our exciting opportunities is right for you and then submit an application that best represents you, your skills and experience in connection with the role you have selected.

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Must be an undergraduate studying for an engineering degree for the duration of the internship
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, coupled with good IT skills
  • Be creative and have an open mind-set with a desire to explore and learn
  • A keen interest in the aviation industry
  • Motivated with the ability to manage own activities and work with a multi-skilled, transnational team
