Graduate Chemical Engineer

As a recent graduate chemical engineer, my role at NNL is at the Workington site under the Waste Management and Decommissioning team with a focus on wasteform development. With the aim of net zero emissions and decarbonisation in the coming years, being at NNL is a great opportunity to receive exposure to a wide range of challenges and innovative research which look to combat the climate change problem.

Despite being new to the business, I have already been involved in a variety of projects that aim to clean up the impact of the nuclear industry on the environment. Through the structured graduate scheme, there is a constant flow of opportunities that you can be a part of, for instance the Young Generation Network of the Nuclear Institute, and there is flexibility to explore different parts of the company if you wish to do so.

I look forward to the varied experience I will have over the next two years!
