I have recently joined NNL on their Project Management graduate scheme, following a career change from teaching. With a degree in Chemistry from Newcastle University, I toyed with the Science and Engineering scheme, but decided my skills would be better utilised as a Project Manager.
As a graduate assistant project manager, I am involved in a huge variety of projects that span across numerous capabilities, from waste management and disposal to health and nuclear medicine. The diversity of work allows me to network with colleague’s companywide whilst developing a deeper understanding of the nuclear sector.
The company recognises that graduates are integral to the business so there is lots of support from colleagues, mentors, and the Early Careers Team to ensure we are developing the skills required to be the best we can be. A bonus of the Project Management scheme is the opportunity to work towards an APM qualification too!
