Independent in ownership and spirit, we're a global firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical experts who use our skills to make a positive difference in the world.

Our people are at the heart of our business and we pride ourselves in embracing the Arup values when dealing with both our colleagues and our clients.

Arup · A Short Introduction

Many people around the world use and enjoy our work every day, however not many people are aware of the projects we are involved in. This short animation shows some of the projects and our approach.

Arup provides theatre and venue consultancy to arts, culture and entertainment clients around the built environment – for experiences, places, buildings and districts. Projects range from: school or community arts facilities, important in our local areas; to new-build international theatres, studios and concert venues: to master-planning entire cultural districts. We guide projects from inception and planning, through design, testing and commissioning to help clients achieve their aspirations, working closely with public authorities, operators, architects, engineers and theatre staff.

About the role

We are looking for a Graduate Consultant to join our team of bright venues professionals in London and Winchester. You will be engaged on a portfolio of projects, working with different teams and ranging in scale, duration and design stage, providing you with a diverse working environment.

Under the guidance of experienced practitioners, you will undertake design and consultancy in the following areas:

  • Stage machinery and automation control systems
  • Performing arts centre design, auditorium planning and operational design

  • Contribute to and review designs of other parties
  • Review systems onsite and assist with specialist performance systems inspection and commissioning.

About you

We're looking for graduates with curiosity, personal drive and technical knowhow. If you can combine these skills with a practical understanding of the performing arts and a desire to deliver excellent services for clients, we'd like to hear from you.

We're looking for the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject, such as Engineering, Sciences, Architecture or Technical Theatre
