Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of advisors and experts working across 140 countries. Founded to be both humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology and rigour to shape a better world.
Our Technical Services portfolio brings together twelve practices that offer industry leading technical expertise. We are individually sought after around the world and collaborate across the entire breadth of Arup's work. Our expertise and experience help clients and collaborators shape the relationship our communities have with the physical and virtual built environment through the special insight that deep technical skill and evidence-based design provide.
We operate as cross-UK practices, bringing people of the same or associated disciplines together to deliver a working environment that focuses on excellence. Our teams field skills, experience and perspective to bear on every project. At the same time, we work together across the practices to tackle the most challenging work before us. We seek innovative approaches and solutions, working in an integrated, inter-disciplinary manner with diverse colleagues from across Arup.
Our Access and Inclusive Environments team works with designers, planners and architects to provide buildings and landscapes that are accessible for all users and maximise opportunity for all, including disabled people, different age groups, different backgrounds, identities and circumstances. We work collaboratively with the project teams, enabling inclusive design to be an integral part of our solutions. Working as a multi-disciplinary team allows us to work with a variety of people, on a wide variety of complex projects, including a wide range of existing and new build sites containing elements such as residential, commercial, education, sports, transport and public realm, from concept to tender phase, construction and hand over.
Working with our team, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about inclusive design, develop skills and work on actual construction projects to improve inclusion for end users. The nature of the work is such that you could be working on several projects at the same time and acquiring first-hand experience of applying accessibility and inclusive design standards and good practice across a range of sectors.
Designing the building envelope is designing the single most striking part of the building. The façade fuses architecture with structural challenge, energy conservation, occupant comfort; and the creation of exciting and valuable space within the building. Arup has the largest and strongest façade engineering team globally. Our approach is based on excellence and ingenuity. We work on the most exciting projects around the world. Our service integrates technical design, structural engineering, thermal analysis, advanced modelling techniques and new materials.
