Creative Content Industrial Placement

Marketing, Communications.

About the Role

At EDF UK success is personal. We don’t define it, you do. Join our Creative Content Industrial Placement and you’ll achieve your career goals in the way you want to. All while contributing to our mission to help Britain achieve Net Zero.

What does this Creative Content opportunity offer you?

We're helping Britain achieve Net Zero
We’ve committed to helping Britain achieve #NetZero by 2050.

We’re looking for a student with a passion for motion design, animation, and digital storytelling to join our in-house Digital & Content team on a one-year placement.

You will play an active role in creating dynamic, visually engaging content, with a strong emphasis on animation, motion graphics, and video-led assets across multiple channels including web, social media, the company intranet and internal publications. We’re evolving our content approach to be increasingly motion-led, and this placement will play a key role in shaping how animation and video bring our stories to life.

This is an opportunity to develop your motion, video production and design skills, help to simplify complex topics and create compelling visual narratives that support EDF’s mission to help Britain achieve Net Zero.

Training, development, and support for you:

Over the 12-month programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full creative production lifecycle, with a particular focus on motion-first content creation.

  • Create motion graphics, animated explainers, and short-form video content for internal and external campaigns
  • Support the production of social-first animations and video edits designed to drive engagement
  • Work with designers and producers to translate static assets into motion-based outputs
  • Assist in the development of storyboards, visual concepts, and animation styles
  • Contribute to video shoots and post-production editing, including sound, grading, and motion overlays
  • Learn how motion and animation play a key role in corporate storytelling and brand communication

During your time on placement, you will also:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced in-house creative team across video, motion design, graphic design, and digital content
  • Gain an understanding of how motion-led content enhances communication effectiveness across channels
  • Develop stakeholder management skills by working with various business units and senior leaders

Recent students have contributed to projects including campaign animations, executive video content, and digital storytelling for major initiatives such as COP events and Net Zero communications.

Your work location:

You’ll be based in Brighton and Hove. Once you’ve completed a few weeks or so in the role your time will be split between the office and home with periodic travel into London.

Who you are:

We’re looking for candidates who are:

  • On track to achieve (or have achieved) a 2:2 degree in a relevant discipline such as motion graphics, animation, video production, graphic design, or digital media
  • Passionate about animation, motion design, and visual storytelling
  • Proficient (or developing proficiency) in tools such as: After Effects (essential for motion work), Premiere Pro & Illustrator/Photoshop
  • Any additional animation or 3D tools (desirable, not essential)
  • Able to think creatively about how to communicate ideas through movement and interaction, not just static visuals
  • Keen to learn and develop in a high-performing corporate creative environment

Pay, benefits and culture:

Alongside a starting salary of £26,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort.
