Job description:

Previous work experience in fast pace manufacturing environment is preferred. You will have the ability to work under pressure and perform well as a team member. It is essential that you will have following general skills and knowledge for our Placement Scheme:

  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the business
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Kaizen activities
  • Waste reduction
  • Implementing change
  • Ability to work to challenging targets and deadlines

Some of the projects the candidate will be implementing are:

  • Introduction of 6S culture to Forging business unit
  • Identification and removal of all unwanted items from Forging
  • Introduction of shadow boards to ensure all essential equipment required is clearly located at each forging work centre
  • Introduce and set housekeeping standards and owners
  • Improved efficiency with set up reduction

Expected learning outcomes for the candidate:

  • The candidate will gain practical experience of work in fast paced aerospace manufacturing environment
  • The candidate will have an opportunity to introduce and implement 6S culture
  • Develop the interpersonal skills required to enable the candidate to work efficiently as a team member.
