AETC have built over 70 years of experience in the industry enabling us to support our customer’s requirements through all stages of component manufacture from raw materials through to engine ready components.

We have sites in both Leeds and Leicester with teams of industry experts and some of manufacturing’s future top talent. Our development pipeline is maintained through dedicated planning, reviews and investment in our employees training.

We now have an opportunity for Graduates to join our Management Operations Team on our Graduate Development Programme.

About the Role

The aim of this programme is to help develop Manufacturing Managers of the future.

During the programme your role will be to support the Manufacturing Operations function of the facility, enabling you to develop and hone your management and leadership skills. Your Manufacturing Management career will be built on exposure to the inner workings of the production environment for one of the world's leading suppliers to the power generation and aerospace (civil and military) industries.

At AETC we believe you will develop best by working on challenging, real projects and as such, you will have immediate interface and exposure to senior leaders at our manufacturing site throughout the programme. You will have access to an outstanding support network and be assigned a 1:1 mentor to make sure you stay on track and achieve your potential. You will rotate through a number of positions to give you a holistic view of the business. Each of these rotations will be centred around the key function of Operations Management.

Programme Outline

• Rotation 1: Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
• Rotation 2: Elective Area (Choosing from... Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Automation, Product Engineering, Quality, Process Engineering)
• Rotation 3: Supervision Support (inclusive of a 6 week placement with the Production Control Team)
• Rotation 4: Supervision (with responsibility for Departmental performance)

Graduates must demonstrate the following minimum criteria:

• Bachelor degree (minimum of 2:1) in a relevant Business Management or Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
• Will undergo relevant psychometric testing
• Evidence of leadership skills
• A strong “can do” attitude and ability to appreciate the wider business context
• Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to think “outside of the box”
• The right to work in the UK
• Resourcefulness and flexibility
• Have a desire to work in a fast-paced driven global organisation
• A desire to work within the manufacturing sector
• Excellent communication skills
• A natural presence, outstanding communications (verbal and written), leadership potential, ability to influence, work within and direct a team

Desired criteria, but not essential would include:

• Time spent in industry (preferably a year placement within a manufacturing environment)

Remuneration & Benefits

• Annual Salary circa £30,000 depending on qualifications and experience
