An opportunity is available at our facility in Leeds, West Yorkshire with potential travel to our Leicester facility.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented, ambitious and skilled individual who thrives on a challenge to undertake a 12 month placement within our IT team. The individual will report to the IT Manager and du es would include:

  • Development of computer controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Preparation of system and so ware specifications.
  • Provide hardware design, including I/O, response units, PLC, network requirements and so ware.
  • Develop so ware and integrate with any packaged SCADA so ware.
  • Implement system and provide operator training.
  • Process improvement

To become part of our innovative team, you will need:

  • To be studying preferably for an Electrical engineering degree, ideally with a systems/ computer technology aspect
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of equipment automation concepts.
  • Competency to evaluate and integrate hardware and so ware on computers and programmable logic controllers in a networked environment.
  • Understanding of database and networking with respect to automation data.
  • To be a well motivated, self starter with drive and enthusiasm.
  • To have excellent a en on to detail and produce quality work within set timeframes.
  • To have a structured, method driven approach to all work tasks.

This role will also require travel to the United States to view Plant Automation in one of our partner sites, this could mean the opportunity of a number of weeks based in the US.
