About Process Automation Division GB

The Process Automation Division is the market leader in intrinsically safe explosion protection components and protection of hazardous area applications, supplying to major companies in the petrochemical industries. The GB subsidiary played a vital part of the global success of the company when founded in 1973 as the first subsidiary.

The RnD department quickly became the competence centre for analogue design, dedicated to supply quality products, expert advice and premier service of Zener Barriers and Galvanic Isolators for use in safe and hazardous areas.

Our solutions are used in a wide variety of industries, ranging from chemical, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and refining to wastewater management, power and energy. Our products enable clients to combine a wide range of electronic equipment into complete, application-oriented system solutions.

About the Role

Do you trust the products that you buy? How do you know they are safe? The reason most consumer products are safe is because of product compliance and regulatory standards. It is similar for industrial products used in oil, gas and pharmaceuticals.

We need an engineer, physicist, or an analytical minded person who is curious, creative and enthusiastic. Someone who has an interest in reviewing electrical schematics, creating critical safety documentation and who enjoys philosophical discussions about interpretations of standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and organisation of Ex-approvals such as ATEX, IECEx and electrical safety standards
  • Determination of the relevant standards and legal requirements with regard to Ex-approvals of our products
  • Regular review of our products with regard to conformity with current international Ex-approvals and if necessary, initiation of updates
  • Close collaboration with colleagues in R&D with regard to the fulfilment of relevant international standards and requirements for Ex-approvals in product design
  • Selection and support of service provider and inspection bodies both before and during the approval process
  • Technical negotiation with authorities and certification institutes both nationally and internationally.

About You
