We are Exxonmobil

Exxonmobil is working to deliver reliable and affordable energy and products.

We are now recruiting for our 2023 UK Summer Placement Programme and we are seeking exceptional people who want to spend 8 weeks at either our Fawley Refinery and Petrochemical Manufacturing site or Fife Ethylene Plant, undertaking a project delivering both business value and personal development.

What would you be doing?

Placement students work in pairs or small teams to address a real life plant challenge.  You could find yourself designing, coordinating, and analysing a plant optimisation trial or scoping a small capital project.  There will be opportunities to think independently, take initiative and be innovative. You will receive training, supervision and coaching support, and have opportunities to interact with our highly skilled Manufacturing team and experience world scale Chemical Engineering operations.

What are we looking for?

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be in the penultimate year of your degree course
  • Be expecting a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelors/Masters degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering
  • Have a minimum of three ‘A’ levels (or equivalent) of at least B grade
  • Be seeking to gain work experience on a 13 month paid Industrial Placement commencing in July 2023

Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.

What’s in it for you?

While on placement with ExxonMobil you will have support and guidance from managers, supervisors and recent graduates to enable you to apply your degree knowledge and fulfil your potential, gaining confidence and experience as an individual, and learning new skills in a real operational environment.

We’re one of the world’s biggest companies and we reward our employees accordingly. We offer an excellent remuneration and benefits package, which includes a competitive salary, benefits and free gyms at most of our UK sites.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.

(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
