We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our rapidly growing security engineering team based in our London or Oxford office.

The Hoare Lea security engineering team includes chartered engineers and professionally registered security professionals with an incredible wealth of experience across many industry sectors. We work on many prestigious built environment projects, focused on delivering security strategies and technical designs aligned to the RIBA plan of works to support the aspirations of our clients.

We have a new role for a graduate security engineer, to work within our technical and engineering team on projects across various sectors and at different stages of the RIBA plan of works - from concept design through to construction, hand-over and in-use assessments. Support will be provided throughout from senior members of the team.

The London office is home to over 250 engineers, consultants and business support staff. The office space has been designed to enable a creative environment, and staff wellbeing and maintenance of a healthy work / life balance is a key part of the Hoare Lea ethos.

The Role

As a graduate engineer, your day-to-day tasks will vary, as we’ll expose you to all aspects of our work. You could produce detailed designs and drawings, use the latest computer modelling software, undertake site surveys, or research ground-breaking technologies. Communication is a constant feature of the role - we regularly liaise with project teams, meet clients or end users, and attend collaborative meetings.
As a graduate your learning will be a mixture of project led, self- learning and appropriately selected courses. As part of Hoare Lea, we are committed to the ongoing professional development of our graduates and support you towards achieving Chartered Engineer or incorporated Engineer status.

About You

  • An expected or achieved 2.1 or above, with an IET/ CIBSE accredited degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or similar.
  • A good working knowledge of engineering drawing and modelling tools and approaches such as CAD and BIM.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
  • Security or built environment industry experience would be desirable though this is not essential.
  • Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and be willing to undergo National Security Vetting in due course.
