Where the STEM jobs are
"Bank of America encourages you to network as often as possible so you have connections you can leverage throughout your career."
What is your role within Global Technology at Bank of America?
Bank of America continues to move forward into the mobile banking area, so there are some pretty exciting projects to work on. I have been partnering with internal technology to update older systems and create newer, more efficient systems. I am also an application developer which entails meeting with teams to do programming and writing documents.
What are the most important things you have learned in your role?
Through my college experience, I was equipped with many of the technical skills needed to succeed. Being at the bank, I have developed the soft skills such as communications, writing, and speaking to others. It’s also been very important to build a network. Bank of America encourages you to network as often as possible so you have connections you can leverage throughout your career.
How do you view Bank of America’s commitment to diversity and inclusion?
I work with people from all around the world. For example, I am from South America, and I see a lot of people from the same region. I am also a part of Bank of America program called Language Partnership, in which the bank partners someone who is not fluent in a particular language with someone who is fluent in that language. This helps both partners learn and teach the language to each other.
What are you most passionate about?
As a new graduate and new employee, I am most passionate about the learning experience. Every day I come to the office with a drive to learn something new. That’s what I am the most passionate about.
