Role Overview

You have deep low-level software knowledge and a keen interest in processor micro-architecture? Take up the challenge to rise tomorrow’s processors performance! We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join Arm, and help shape the future of technology and collaborating in the development of next-generation processors that fuel billions of devices world-wide.

Arm’s Sophia Antipolis design centre is located in one of the most beautiful parts of France, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most dynamic technology park. Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this exceptional design centre has delivered leading products from Arm’s Cortex (TM) processor family.

As Graduate CPU Modelling Engineer, your main role will consist in creating, developing and supporting internal CPU micro-architectural performance models written in C.

These models are used initially during the investigations of the project to help and define the micro-architecture of the product, with a specific focus on high performance and energy efficiency. They are then usually enhanced and used during the development phases to assess the performance trade-offs and ensure the product reaches its area, frequency, power and performance targets.

Job Requirements

• Essential skills and experience
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
• Programming skills (C or C++)
• Understanding of the fundamentals of CPU architecture
• Habits of Linux environment
• Good English interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience:

• CPU or System modelling knowledge
• CPU performance analysis/benchmarking
• Compilers and code generation techniques
• Scripting skills in Python
