Position Summary

We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Control Systems Engineering team as part of our Energy business unit. Working as part of multidiscipline project teams, you will be involved with:

  • Front end and detailed design, equipment specifications, instrument selection, sizing and specification of instrumentation and valves
  • Design, testing and installation of all types of control and safety related systems including functional safety and cyber security
  • Discipline input and support to the overall facility 3D model
  • Complete procurement cycle of mechanical equipment from requisitioning, technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, vendor management, vendor facility visits to oversee equipment manufacturing and functional testing etc

Typical Responsibilities

  • Ensure the engineering design provides safety for personnel during construction and operation
  • Monitor and communicate progress of assigned tasks within the overall Project schedule 
  • Ensure Quality of all tasks and deliverables, applying Company procedures and work processes 
  • Monitor the effectiveness of work processes and strive for continuous improvement
  • Assist in conceptual designs, studies, reports and proposals
  • Perform calculations and basic preliminary analyses
  • Use engineering / computer application tools as directed
  • Review vendor and other discipline designs and provide technical input
  • Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed
  • Assist in development and verification of project control documents and status reports
  • Provide construction support either from home office or site-based assignment
  • Be responsible for your own career progression 

The position offers a foundation for a career as a technical specialist or a manager, and opportunities to travel to project sites.

Skills and Qualifications

Successful candidates should be on track for a 2:1 or higher master’s degree in Automation, Computer Systems, Electrical/Electronics, Control Systems, instrumentation engineering or related subject. Work experience relevant to the area you are applying to, and extra-curricular activities will help your application.
