Duration: 1 year, from 27th June 2022 until Friday 30th June 2023.
With over 25 million customers – 17.4 million of them digitally active – we're far and away the largest UK digital and retail bank. And in 2020, Euromoney named us the Best Digital Bank in Western Europe.
All of this was made possible, of course, by our dedicated software engineers. And with the help of cloud technologies, advanced robotics, machine learning and whole raft of other ground-breaking innovations, they still have a crucial role to play in meeting our customers’ changing needs.
Do you have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail? Do you enjoy coding? If you also love maths and technology, a Software Engineering Industrial Placement could be right for you.
Our software engineers work closely with teams across the Group, creating bespoke tools that help them solve ever-changing business issues. If you’re open-minded about learning and collaborating, this placement offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and kickstart your software engineering career.
Along with structured training sessions, you’ll have opportunities to build a network of colleagues and peers who can help you with your development. We'll help you build your leadership skills and give you the chance to volunteer for extracurricular activities, like helping improve people’s digital skills or getting involved in hackathons. And if you do well, you could even score a fast-track assessment for our Software Engineering Graduate Scheme.
You’ll need a basic understanding of at least one modern programming language or framework. You’ll also need a passion for learning and a strong desire to succeed.
Our Software Engineering Industrial Placements are based in either Edinburgh, London or West Yorkshire, and candidates should select one of these locations during their application. Although you’ll be applying for one location hub, you will be asked to indicate your willingness to consider another location hub if the opportunity were to arise.
We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
