Our Hinckley office is looking to recruit a graduate civil engineer to join their Oil and Gas team to work on a number of exciting projects.
Our team has developed extensive knowledge by undertaking a wide range of design and project services based on its core gas engineering expertise. We provide engineering and design consultancy for onshore oil and natural gas pipelines as well as the associated infrastructure across all pressure regimes, including high-pressure gas transmission and low-pressure gas distribution networks.
As a graduate engineer you will work within the Hinckley office to support internal project managers and external client customers. You will be involved with designing engineering solutions for civil engineering projects, and to act as design co-ordinator within a multi-disciplinary team made up of mechanical, civil, control & instrumentation and electrical engineers in the field of petrochemical pipework/pipeline design (mainly natural gas) on a by-project basis.

Examples of tasks that may be undertaken as a graduate include:
undertaking civil and structural work in the areas of earthworks, ground analysis / investigation, pipework/equipment supports, site roadways, drainage, reinforced concrete foundations / bases for buildings and structural steel analysis
producing engineering reports, calculations and specifications
instructing CAD designers and checking of drawings
working with civil and structural engineers to solve engineering challenges
liaising with other engineering disciplines
procurement and construction support
project documentation control
working towards professional qualifications, undertaking training and own continuing professional development
maintaining a comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical engineering codes and practices and taking a 'hands on' role in technical matters both at project and divisional level
This role will also involve short term travel in the UK or abroad to offices and / or sites.
We welcome application from graduates with the following:
an MEng degree with a predicted grade of 2:1 or above in civil or structural engineering
knowledge and understanding of Eurocodes and international design codes, standards and specifications
a genuine interest in the Oil and Gas / Petrochemical industry
high level of IT literacy and numeracy skills
the ability to be adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team
the ability to confidently build and maintain external and internal relationships
clear and logical written communication
a systematic logical approach to problem solving
strong attention to detail and able to demonstrate accurate work
