Mott MacDonald’s support services are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively. The Group Tax team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice to all areas of our business and to ensure that we comply with our statutory obligations in all the countries in which we operate.

Digital transformation is a key goal for the organisation and this role will be integral to the tax department’s own digital transformation journey, changing the way in which we deliver advice and in how we extract data to comply with our compliance and reporting obligations.

Job Description

The Group Tax team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice to all areas of our business and to ensure that we comply with our statutory obligations in all the countries in which we operate.

The role of Graduate Tax Accountant will:

  • Assist in ensuring the Group is compliant in its UK Corporate Income Tax (CIT) reporting and also the Transfer Pricing reporting of MM branches and subsidiaries worldwide. 
  • Identify more efficient ways to extract and manipulate the data that is required as inputs into the compliance processes.
  • Interact with stakeholders across the MM business in order to evaluate data extracted from Mott MacDonald systems and to ensure it is presented accurately in the tax reporting. 
  • Assist with providing advisory services to the business relating to key tax issues/concerns.
  • Identify changes in tax legislation which may have an impact on the business and convey such changes to stakeholders. 
  • Engage with external advisors in assisting with the management of local tax audits in specific jurisdictions.

We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:

  • A degree in Data Science or similar, with an interest in pursuing a career in tax and a relevant professional qualification.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
  • Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving
