The role

Specialising in one of Renishaw’s product areas, you will undergo a 12-month training programme to develop the relevant skills, knowledge and experience to successfully apply manufacturing and metrology principles with Renishaw products to resolve our customers manufacturing problems.

Following your training period, you will be a skilled and knowledgeable member of the Renishaw Applications team who can be called upon to provide support to either pre or post sales activities throughout the Renishaw group. You will become a self-sufficient, confident engineer able to communicate with personnel, from shop floor to management levels, both within Renishaw and its customers. Working in Applications can often involve travel, either national or international, depending on the product line and business requirement.

What are we looking for?

  • Completed or will have completed a degree or equivalent in an Engineering or applied Science discipline, such as: Aerospace Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Some experience of manufacturing techniques, particularly milling and turning
  • Experience of using measurement instruments
  • A basic knowledge/use of CAD/CAM systems
  • An understanding of statistical analysis methods
  • Some experience of using programming languages
  • The drive for continual self-development
  • Confidence in presenting ideas, results and solutions, both written and verbally
  • A flexible attitude to travel both in the UK and Internationally
  • A full UK driving licence

Promotion within the Applications engineering stream can lead to positions such as Senior or Principle Applications Engineer, or to a managerial position such as Applications Manager or Operations Manager.
