Emerson's Graduate Commercial Engineer program provided me with a unique perspective of the entire Emerson organisation. Moving between Business Units in a structured manner introduced me to a number of individuals and teams who are responsible for manufacturing, selling, installing and maintaining the various products and services which Emerson offers.

From putting live proposals together as part of different sales teams; to travelling across Europe visiting our factories I truly felt like I was having a positive impact on the business whilst learning the necessary processes that come along with working for a global company.

The rotational nature of the graduate program equipped me with the required knowledge and understanding of the business to successfully progress in to a permanent role within the organisation.

Since completing the program I have been located in our Stockport office and most recently the Aberdeen Solutions Centre as an Internal Sales Engineer, doing an almost identical job but catering to different industries, markets and regions in the process. One of my goals whilst studying at university was to join a company which would give me the opportunity to progress on both a personal and professional level and so far Emerson has done just that. For anyone with a technical background who is also interested in business and sales I cannot recommend the Graduate Commercial Engineer program highly enough!
