Bombardier Transportation is a global engineering company that's shaping the evolution of mobility. We have a rich heritage behind us, but it's our innovative approach that puts us at the forefront of our industry. At the heart of everything are our employees and our suppliers, with whom mobility truly begins. Join us at our major site in Derby and take pride in working on quality, leading-edge projects that drive your career forward.
At Bombardier, we see trains as more than a mode of transport. Ours is a challenging, innovative, important industry, and we see trains as the future of eco-friendly travel; as outstanding examples of design; and as exceptional feats of engineering. They're also highly complex projects that need brilliant people to bring them to life and keep them running smoothly.
Maintenance is vital to the smooth running of the UK's rail operations. Working alongside our customers, Bombardier's Service Execution teams have forged a market-leading position in the important area of train life-care and support.
Working in partnership with our customers, train operators and asset owners, we are responsible for the maintenance and safe delivery of trains into service on a daily basis. Operating from our Fleet Maintenance Depots, we can provide total fleet maintenance and take responsibility for all customer requirements, including refuelling, cleaning, depot management, full maintenance requirements and spares provision, fulfilling high standards of availability and reliability.
Our work enables thousands of passengers to safely arrive to their destination every day, all over the UK.
Working in Services Execution, you will make the most intelligent use of energy and materials, while partnering with our suppliers and meeting our customers' demands for optimal safety, reliability, passenger comfort as well as cost efficiency.
By joining our Services Execution track, you will have the opportunity to work in placements in several of our Depot locations in the London area (East Ham, Ilford, Neasden, New Cross Gate, Northumberland Park, Old Oak Common, Seven Kings, etc.).
You will complete a two-year intensive (IET or IMechE accredited) development programme. During this programme, whilst providing a tangible contribution to the success of the team, you will undertake a series of rotations around our business encompassing the entire product selection, development and service operation lifecycle. Within a climate of innovation that yields value-based solutions, you will also support engineering solutions to meet the customer requirements as part of the safety case and train presentation, support the identification and delivery of reliability improvements and ensure our customer requirements are understood, documented and fulfilled, developed and tested.
On-the-job learning is complemented by a modular personal development programme. Supported by a mentor you will work towards gaining a relevant professional qualification.
You will need a minimum 2:1 BEng or a MEng, in Automotive, Aerospace, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Maths, Physics, Chemistry/Materials or a manufacturing discipline from courses with product integration and system engineering content. Candidates must have excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for making things happen.
