I am German and studied Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University, UK. After joining the Commercial CDP scheme at Air Products, I spent my first assignment working in Marketing in the UK. Currently I am in Belgium for my second assignment.
My current role combines marketing and finance tasks. On one hand a large part of my position is market and customer analysis. For this work, I directly interact with customers, I need to understand market needs and analyse how to optimise our product offerings. On top of this I also do monthly financial reporting. This really gives me an insight on how business decisions are made and what criteria our performance is evaluated on.
As a business improvement analyst, I take into account the views of different business areas and combine them into one coherent strategy. Being involved in a large variety of projects I am learning an incredible amount about our product offering and how the company works.
Seeing the big picture. This position touches so many diverse parts of the organisation that I now have a much better idea of why things happen the way they do and why certain decisions are made.
