I graduated from Nottingham University with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering with Renewable Energy Systems. I then completed a Royal IHC summer placement working within the electrical team, working mainly on tower cable management and building test panels for roof actuators.
Following the placement, I gained an MSc in Renewable Energy at Newcastle University. I then joined a building services company as a graduate. After 12 months I joined Royal IHC as a Gradate Electrical Design Engineer. I am currently 8 months into the graduate scheme based at Stocksfield Hall and I've had a very steep learning curve, quickly being given responsibilities on major projects. I'm working as part of the electrical team for the Shanghai Salvage project, where I have completed electrical designs for the Aligner & Straightener Hang off Clamp, and worked with the mechanical team on the tower cable management and pivoting access systems.
So far I have really enjoyed my time at Royal IHC and have learnt a lot in a small period of time. Over the next 12 to 18 months I will be progressing my designs and will begin a graduate rotation programme, progressing towards CEng as part of the professional development scheme at Royal IHC.
