We run an exciting 12 month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole.

You will received on the job training and take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles. Working as part of the Supply Chain Transformation Team, this placement will be involved with various aspects of manufacturing engineering, project management and operational support to the Cummins Power Systems sites.

  • Helping to support projects in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Operations Excellence, Engine and Generator Testing, Simulation Modelling.
  • Liaising with multiple departments and global plants, to support and manage various improvement projects.
  • Responsibility for leading small projects.

Qualifications

  • University degree course in either Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering/other relevant degree
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Assembly and Industry 4.0
  • Project management, Team working, Problem solving, Conceptual skills, Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

The role will provide excellent experience for your CV and an introduction to a manufacturing/engineering/project management role in industry.

A mentor will be there to guide you through your placement year. The following training will be provided:

  • Training in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Systems
  • Engine and Generator product knowledge
  • Coaching to enable the development of other business skills such as Project Management
  • Internal Placement and Graduate Networks.
