Cummins are now recruiting for our 2020 intake of 12 month placements in the UK, which provide a meaningful opportunity for university students to accomplish real-world projects in a professional environment.

If successful on the programme you may be given the opportunity to work part-time during your final year of study and/or be offered the opportunity to return as a graduate. We have 2 positions available within the Supply Chain team for the following placements:

  • Customer Services / Order Management – Being the voice of the customer in plant and maximising their experience through the management and fulfilment of their order requirements
  • Material Planning - Manage the balance of supply and demand to optimise business results.

Qualifications & skills

  • Applicants must be ideally working towards a degree in Business Studies or Supply Chain.
  • Good communication skills
  • Time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organised
  • Be a team player as well as be able to work proactively and independently
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office software
  • Previous customer or supplier facing work experience is of benefit but not essential
  • A proficiency in a foreign language is of benefit but not essential
  • Understanding of Oracle (ERP) system is of benefit but not essential.

Training Provided

  • Full understanding of Supply Chain Management incorporating the following:
  • Order management - from initial customer forecast to final payment
  • Commercial awareness
  • Supply Chain – Product Creation, Planning, Production Control, Shipping, Finance
  • Communication skills with “live” experience in a fast paced environment
  • Facilitated learning by regular mentoring & focused coaching sessions
  • Gain valuable knowledge and skills that can be practically applied in future career.

COVID-19 update - Cummins is still hiring for placements and graduates. At Cummins we don’t focus on the predicted grades, we use a mixture of Core Values which match with the psychometric testing results and the interview process. Cummins moved to Skype video interviewing at the beginning of March, we are not holding any face to face or group assessments during this current cycle. We may ask you to respond and prepare for an exercise under time constraints but all information/instructions are provided. If you have any issues with Skype our Recruiters are on hand to help you.
