We are looking for an enthusiastic Operational Placement Student to join our team specialising in Logistics for our Corporate Segment in Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • UK Logistics Centre specific ergonomics project – improving manual handling processes with the use of lifting equipment
  • Review and improve current picking & packing processes for production & aftermarket customers
  • Following on from the above, the Student would then share best practice with other sites in the Cummins network.
  • Continuous Improvement / Operations Excellence projects within the facility.
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation of UK Cummins sites into the UK Logistics Centre
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, data analysis and presenting findings to the leadership team.

UKLC specific ergonomics project focusing on the 15kg weight limit of picking parts. Focusing on current picking processes across the site, and looking to improve where possible.

  • Following on from the above, the Student would then share best practice with other sites in the Cummins network.
  • Continuous Improvement / Operations Excellence type projects within the facility
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation of Darlington into the UKLC.

Participate in requirements gathering sessions, data analysis and presenting findings to the leadership team.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Working towards a degree in STEM/Health and Safety related area
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Ability to understand data, solve problems and think innovatively
  • Communication skills, self-confidence and ability to work independently as well as part of team.
