We are looking for an enthusiasticService Engineer- Placement to join our team specialising in Power Generation for our Power Systems Business in Daventry, Northamptonshire. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Investigate engine and genset component failures.
Work as technical liaison between Cummins field service organisation and the Engineering functions.
Participate in component teardown and failure analysis to assist Field Service, Warranty and Engineering with problem definitions. Document and publish findings in technical reports.
Utilise analytical and engine diagnostic tools to identify trends in field failure data, analyse engine operation data and launch investigations for emerging product issues.
Create and maintain technical field service publications enabling service technicians to provide the most effective support to our customers. Develop and improve diagnostic techniques when published troubleshooting procedures have been exhausted.
Actively participate on Global cross-functional problem solving teams.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering, Project Management & STEM related subjects.
Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
Has clear thought processes and can show a logical approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
Has sustained interest and achievement within hobbies/interests/out of academia activities.
