We are looking for an enthusiastic Stress & Dynamics Analysis Engineer - Placement to join our team specialising in Power Generation for our Power Systems in Daventry, Northamptonshire. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

The role of the Stress & Dynamics Engineer Placement will be to assist in the design and development of new and existing variants of V12, V16 & V18 diesel and gas engines up to 4060 horsepower and power generation sets up to 4MWe used in applications such as mining, locomotive, marine and power generation.

Responsible for working alongside designers and development engineers to ensure current and new products have good reliability by carrying out hand calculation, finite element stress analysis, multi body simulation and component life prediction using in house code and commercial software.

Apply their knowledge of engineering principles and practices to optimise the processes that govern design, development, analysis and release of our products.

Develop and assist the implementation of test plans for experimental mechanics and utilise measured data to improve the validity of virtual models.

Improve the way we verify designs using analysis coupled with the creation of system and component rig tests.

Provide clear direction to stakeholders, through various presentation methods and document analysis work and procedures as Cummins Technical Reports.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering, Project Management & STEM related subjects.

  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
  • Has clear thought processes and can show a logical approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
