Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Plant Support Engineer – Placement to join our team specialising in Power Generation for our Power Systems Business in Daventry, Northamptonshire. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Engineering Plant Support teams primary objective is as a technical link between the shop operations (including the supply chain teams) and the engineering functions by “Keeping the assembly line running” in providing rapid response to line stopping engineering related issues.

As an Engineering Plant Support team member, you quickly and effectively adapt to changes in the manufacturing environment and utilise all the applicable engineering standard works, policies and procedures.

Work cross-functionally to conduct and support product problem solving projects via Engineering Change Requests (ECR), BIS etc to minimise cost and product failure exposures and actively search for improvement opportunities and implement workable solutions.

Develop technical projects that support continuous improvement of assembly shop activities to improve product quality, safety, process and see the improvement opportunity through the implementation phase.

Develop a culture of collaboration and cooperation between the Shop Operations function (including the supply chain teams) and engineering functions.

Fully proficient with all work processes, independently working with company resources to meet customer expectations.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering, Project Management & STEM related subjects.

  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
  • Has clear thought processes and can show a logical approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
  • Has sustained interest and achievement within hobbies/interests/out of academia activities.

This placement position is one of a number of roles we have available across our Daventry and Manston Power Systems Technical Centre sites.
