Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Facilities and Test Technology Engineer- Placement to join our team specialising in Power Generation for our Power Systems Business in Daventry, Northamptonshire. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Working under the guidance of the senior engineer/supervisor the placement engineer will work as part of a team on development test cell improvements at the Daventry site.

Working in a cross-functional team with strong links to Performance, Emissions and Mechanical Development teams.

The placement will involve mechanical and electrical systems currently in place as well as driving the definition and involvement in upgrades and cell improvements, including fuel systems, after-treatment, data acquisition and emissions equipment.

Test cell data validation through analytical techniques, supporting engines in the test cell and in running different cycles of test and understanding & improving data quality is an underlying theme to all the work in the Lab Ops areas.

You will be required to troubleshoot problems and drive solutions through liaison with the group’s customers and lead project work ensuring deliverables are met.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering, Project Management & STEM related subjects.

  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
  • Has clear thought processes and can show a logical approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
  • Has sustained interest and achievement within hobbies/interests/out of academia activities.
