We are looking for an enthusiastic Global Desktop IT Placement Student to join our team specialising in Systems/Information Technology for our Corporate/CBS business Segment in Darlington, United Kingdom, During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Maintain and Improve IT and related business processes/records with involvement in multiple functional groups, cross business units and global initiatives
  • Liaise with clients and confidently support teams regarding client requests and issues, resolving customer incidents and overcoming challenges in your own workload
  • Assume responsibility for day-to-day support ticket processing, including interaction with other groups, ensuring Business / IT Compliance
  • Responding courteously to enquiries and queries from colleagues and customers, ensuring deadlines are met and policies, standards, procedures, guidelines are followed

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Currently studying at university on an undergraduate degree in IT, computer, Business, or related subject.
  • General IT, Windows, PC/Server technologies proficiency and understanding, Competent in collaboration tools, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Microsoft teams and the virtual world in general.
  • Strong written and confident in verbal communication skills, Able to work on your own initiative, or as part of a team, confident in prioritising workload, problem solving and meeting deadlines
  • Practical technical knowledge gained through academic studies or personal interests and Willingness to develop your skills and knowledge through independent research, learning from colleagues and through formal training where appropriate
