We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement - CPE Engineer to join our team specializing in combustion performance for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Interpret and predict the performance of fluid and thermal systems, applying the use of modelling and experimental tools, to answer key questions about the system or component.
Develop expertise of thermal and fluid sciences, using and advancing analytical and experimental approaches to answer key questions about the performance and architecture of a system or component.
Investigate product, system, and/or technology problems that are related to thermal and fluid sciences, recommending appropriate action, owning problem resolution and documenting results with guidance from more experienced team members.
Collaborate with the team to help solve system level issues in the non- road engine applications like mining haul trucks, power generation engines etc.
Obtain input and negotiate with immediate stakeholders. Design optimization, feasibility studies, or architecture definition and makes decisions in the areas of day to day project details, such as conducting inquiries, testing etc.
Support Daventry plant performance issues, calibration re-centering, understanding of test cells, performance development fundamentals, collecting good quality data, testing process, data analysis, test planning, test preparation, test execution, CPE review and final release.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Studying towards a Degree in Engineering or equivalent related STEM degree discipline (including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
Very good knowledge and understanding of thermodynamics and Internal Combustion engines is essential for this role.
Has clear thought processes and can show a reasonable approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
Able to work with other engineering and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues and able to participate as a team member and constantly contributes towards team goals.
