We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement Student – Product Release to join our team specializing in Product Release and Integration for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Support new product introductions, ensuring release activity adheres to the corporate product definition standards.
Work alongside with the Product Release team and Design Integrators, you will be creating engineering product release documents, maintaining unique parts listings, tracking open issues, attending design reviews and project update meetings. Participate in functional excellence activities. You will provide a link between the Design teams and manufacturing departments as they prepare for engine builds and project milestones – similarities with project management.
We are a Global company and thus have global teams, you will interact with a diverse Global team expanding your communication skills whilst working on projects and building close links with the Corporate Configuration Management and Design integration teams.
Interact with the designers and engineers working on new or next generation products, assisting and advising them to help progress the project. Through this work your technical knowledge will grow – if you don’t know much about engines when you start you will by the time you finish.
The work is very dynamic and varied with exposure to many departments and a wide range of people, if you’re a bit unsure which avenue of engineering you want to follow you could consider this role. Over the year you will interact with the other engineering teams (design, analysis, power cylinder etc.) and there may be opportunities to work with and assist other teams that interest you.
Interact with different business units enabling you to gain a broad insight into how large company’s operate and communicate change.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Studying towards a Degree in Engineering or equivalent related STEM degree discipline (including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering outstanding results, teamwork, capabilities and outside education experiences.
Has clear thought processes and can show a reasonable approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
Able to work with other engineering and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues and able to participate as a team member and constantly contributes towards team goals.
