Indirect Buying Placement Student - Purchasing

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Indirect Buying Placement Student to join our team specialising in Purchasing for our Corporate Organisation in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Managing your own projects, supporting Indirect Buying Analysts with their projects.
• The candidate will be working under the guidance of the Indirect Buying Leader, however, supporting the whole team, and as a result there is potential for them to become involved in projects that focus on the different categories in Indirect Purchasing, for example MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operating supplies), Facilities and Construction, IT, Supply Chain and Corporate.
• Review and approve internal purchase requisitions
• Collect and report data from our Ariba internal ordering system and present the Spend Analysis
• Administer and lead Catalogue Analysis; support a number of different projects across the function as they arise
• Charity responsibilities – assisting Community Involvement Team with charity and fundraising activities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Studying for an undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline or a European language degree (written and verbal English are mandatory)
• Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft excel, word and PowerPoint and use of Microsoft Outlook
• Attention to detail and good organisation skills; ability to understand data and problem solve, and think innovatively
• Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal; partnering within department and within other functions; conducting presentations at team meetings and via tele-conference.
