With CGG’s strategy now focusing on data and cutting-edge technology, a new Machine Learning (ML) Hub is being created in our Massy centre, near Paris in France. Initially the roles created in this Hub will focus on R&D on deep learning (DL) for seismic data processing and analysis. Our challenges are very complex due to specificities of seismic data: high dimensionality, noise, physics constraints… The problematics are many and the data abundant. In a second stage, the Hub will evolve towards other industry challenges related to geosciences and new opportunities totally outside of our existing business.
You will get the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and will play a vital part in shaping directions for the Hub, which will offer many exciting R&D opportunities. You will develop codes to test your ideas, and then support the implementation into our software, used internally by our worldwide production teams. These tasks will include but not be limited to:

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in producing new tools and helping our clients to understand how DL can improve their business. Collaboration is a key aspect for the success of the ML Hub. The candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to impress!
You are likely to be educated to a PhD degree level - or a Master degree with at least 3 years of successful research experience - in any of the following disciplines but a combination of education and experience will be considered;
