PhD in Geology, University of Barcelona
I joined CGG in October 2018 as a Project Geoscientist – Sedimentologist, working in the African Region, based out of the North Wales office in Llandudno.
I am from a very small village in the middle of the Catalan Coastal Ranges, and I did my undergraduate degree in Geology and Master’s degree in Geology and sedimentary reservoir exploration at the University of Barcelona. I finished my PhD in 2017; it was focused on the multidisciplinary study of the evolution of the central High Atlas diapiric basin by integrating field examples, numerical and analogue modelling.
During my PhD, I really enjoyed working in a group constituted by people with different backgrounds on integrated projects. That is something that I am still doing in CGG. Since I joined the company one year ago, I have had the opportunity to work on different projects, in different regions and with different teams. That is challenging and dynamic, and it is one of the things that I enjoy the most.
