Our Business

ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world’s largest integrated utility companies and world leader in wind energy. Our focus is on wind energy, smart grids and driving the change to a cleaner, electric future. We’re proud to say we produce 100% green electricity and are well on our way to our ultimate journey to Net Zero.

We're investing over £1.4 billion in the UK - every year - for the next 5 years. Working on cutting edge innovation projects, we’re creating a smarter, cleaner and more efficient network, as well as building and maintaining windfarms, as we work towards Net Zero.  And, with contributions of £40m to charitable causes during the last 5 years, we’re investing in our communities as well to create a better future, quicker, for everyone.

From the big to the small, that’s ScottishPower

At ScottishPower, we think less about what energy is and more about what it can do for you in the real world. Because our responsibility is to you the customer. From the big to the small.

What opportunities do we have on offer for you?

Delivering improved services and innovative technical solutions, our Networking, Infrastructure and Architecture Team are a highly skilled and agile team who deliver, maintain and secure our network. Working with the Global IT Team, we play a critical role in safeguarding the network and you’ll learn about the documentation and architecture of the IT landscape across the group.

With opportunities for placements in infrastructure, architecture and IT support; you can choose your path whilst gaining an all-round experience of IT. You might be provisioning infrastructure, both on-premise and cloud, or learning about storage array networks and network attached storage. You may see how IT is backed up and restored, monitored and alerted; or you might be reviewing our disaster recovery process, ensuring that the design and execution is fit for purpose. You’ll be able to engage with key stakeholders too, through providing an essential IT support service and ensuring the efficient delivery and evaluation of the service. You’ll be surrounded by highly experienced IT professionals along the way, who will support you to achieve a successful career in IT.

We want to hear from you NOW if you have, or expect to achieve, an Honours Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum of 2:2 in any IT, Business or other STEM related degree, or similar. If you also happen to speak a foreign language, even better.

Who are we looking for?

YOU! We want you. We want people with talent and ambition, a desire to learn, who embrace innovative ideas and challenge others to think differently. Above all, you must share our passion for excellence to deliver for our customers; and you must be excited to help us generate the change needed to deliver a better future, quicker. Because nothing matters more.

Why choose ScottishPower?

There’s never been a more exciting time to join us, and we need great people like you to help us succeed on our journey to Net Zero! During your time on the graduate programme, you’ll face new challenges and experience a diverse range of opportunities.
