The Graduate Renewables Consultant works within the Power / Renewables Unit and reports to the Head of Performance/Owner’s Engineering/Independent Engineering/Storage. The role will be based at the Brighton Office and will involve some travel to client offices or project sites.
Technical Development for Project Delivery
Developing the necessary skills to undertake:
- Due diligence projects, including tasks such as technology and design reviews, grid reviews, site assessments, contract reviews, structural assessments etc.
- Solar / wind resource and climatic conditions analyses for solar PV and wind projects across all global markets.
- Energy yield and project performance studies for solar PV and wind projects.
- Energy storage modelling and simulation.
- Solar PV project/ wind turbine layout design and optimisation based on local conditions and constraints.
- Detailed operational performance analytics and fault-finding including manipulation and processing of large datasets.
- Support the growth of the Renewables team through the undertaking of research and development projects.
- Responsible for testing and development of internal toolsets and reporting processes.
Customer/Client Relations
- Dealing with RINA clients to request technical input data, communicate outputs and resolve queries.
Report Writing
- Preparation of technical reports.
Learning from Others
- Shadow more experienced engineers and consultants where possible to develop new skills.
- Participate in internal training sessions when available.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Physics/Engineering/Mathematics/Renewable Energy Systems or related subject degree – Bachelor level.
Desirable:
- Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems or related subject degree – Masters level.
