The BBC Digital News team develops and supports the most visited news websites and apps in the UK, including the BAFTA award winning BBC News website (www.bbc.co.uk/news), the BBC News Apps and BBC Weather Apps. These have reach to a global audience of 100's of millions across over 30 languages.
The New Talent Industrial Placement scheme is a 12-13 month work placement for people undertaking a degree in Information Technology, Media Technology, Computer Science or other related discipline.
This is a sandwich year placement role, which is designed for undergraduates returning to university.
At the end of this scheme, you will have the knowledge and experience necessary to work as a Junior Software Engineer. Many of our past trainees have gone on to join us after their degrees.
We have multiple roles on offer in web, apps (iOS/Android) and backend development teams offering you a choice of experience to fit your preferred technical path. You will be involved in all aspects of feature development, maintenance and operational support providing a fantastic opportunity to see what it takes to develop and support scaled products used by millions.
You will have a passion for software engineering and public-facing products.
