Novelis' Engineering Development Programme (EDP) aims to build on the strengths and skills of talented engineering graduates by providing them with relevant learning experiences and business insights to accelerate their development and career opportunities and leverage their contribution to Novelis Engineering Excellence.

The EDP Programme provides a powerful international 18-month learning experience in 4 learning modules to put you in the driver's seat of your career with the world’s largest recycler of aluminium by focusing on technology, innovation, engineering and continuous improvement. 

Depending on your engineering background and what keeps you rolling, the EDP Programme offers a variety of career opportunities in:

  • Operations (Engineering, Production, Quality, Safety)
  • Supply Chain
  • Information Technology
  • Value Stream (Can, Auto, Specialties and Aerospace)
  • Procurement.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Your tasks:

  • Active contribution to Expert and Project tasks in the field of the programme
  • Build up your career foundation through expertise and soft skill development opportunities throughout the whole programme
  • Gain a deep inside in our core business processes
  • Transfer of theoretical learning in day-to-day job
  • Contribute in cross-department projects
  • Rotate within the connected department during the programme to understand the business better
  • Build your regional network with peers and experts from the region
  • Reflect with a personal mentor on your development.

Your qualifications:

  • Exceptional degree (diploma, masters) in the field of automation engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, business administration with a technical background, material science, quality, safety & health or comparable qualifications.
  • Initial practical experience - ideally in the industrial sector - in the form of internships, thesis and working student activities.
  • Ideally international experience, e.g. in the form of a semester or internship abroad, as well as the aspiration for international collaboration.
  • Business fluent in English (B2 level) and local language of site (B2 level)
  • Strong communication, creativity, problem-solving as well as analytical skills
  • Self-confidence, the ability to take decisions and ownership
  • Aspiration to seek a leadership position or become a technical expert
  • Digital native and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strong commitment and open mind towards learning, people and learning from failure
  • High level of initiative, assertiveness and willingness to change
  • Team spirit, hands-on mentality and a great desire to make a difference together
  • Appreciation of a Diverse & Inclusive working set-up
  • Mobility at least within the country during and after the programme
  • Willingness to travel and valid working permit for Europe (during & after programme) at application available.
