Risk Management is the process of managing the effect of uncertainty on objectives whether the resultant effect is positive (opportunities) or negative (threats). Risk is at the heart of every project and programme, and therefore its effective management is essential. Our Project and Commercial Services Team undertakes tendering, value engineering, risk management, auditing, project management, programme management, commercial and finance. The role of the Graduate Risk Analyst is to support the risk management team developing and embedding programme and project risk management practices for our clients. A large part of the position will involve supporting the facilitation of regular risk workshops for the purpose of identification, management and control of risk together with the realisation of opportunity.
We asked our graduates what it’s like to do their job. On a day to day basis, the life of a graduate at WSP starts off in the morning with cups of tea and responding to any urgent client emails.
Beyond that, anything could happen! You could get involved in report writing, visiting site and liaising with contractors, discussing options with colleagues, responding to client requests for information or meetings with the team about the scope and progress of projects.
Naturally, there is a lot to learn and you are likely to be guided through complex software packages, team briefings and client updates from the start. There may even be time for cake.
