About the Role

As one of the world’s leading engineering, professional services and technical consultancy firms, at WSP, we’re passionate about the big questions. And big answers, naturally. For us that’s all about reaching beyond the expected to do work that’ll make a profound impact felt long into the future.

The team work on every type of electrical power network from medium sized industrial distribution systems, through major urban distribution systems to transmission networks and interconnectors. We manage and support electricity network innovation projects and are at the forefront of work to deliver networks fit for a decentralised, decarbonised and digital future. We work for a wide range of clients in the UK and overseas, providing strategic, regulatory and due diligence advice, undertaking techno-economic feasibility studies, and providing full design, project management and construction management services. Our power network engineering skills cover power system planning and analysis, overhead lines and towers, cables, substations, HVDC and protection and control.

Graduates joining our distribution team have opportunities to work with power systems, transmission, interconnectors and smart energy teams in our power networks business as part of their development.
