At WSP, there’s nothing we love more than pushing boundaries. Join us and you’ll be part of an organisation that takes pride in its people and purpose: creating long-lasting solutions to meet the needs of generations to come.

"As a Grad, every day is training"

The graduates tell us about WSP's comprehensive training programme and fascinating development opportunities, including support towards Chartership. To watch the full Gradcracker/WSP webinar, click here.

The Gas sector is going through one of its most critical industry wide changes in a generation. The need for Natural Gas for societal gain is as important as ever, but the future will undoubtedly contain major change which for the gas sector will come about through the introduction of Hydrogen.

The WSP Gas and Hydrogen Team has pivoted to support this changing environment to take our knowledge about the UK gas sector, world renowned for safety standards, and ensure it carries into the Hydrogen based world.  Beyond Hydrogen the team is also heavily engaged with decarbonisation strategy through the implementation of Carbon Capture and Carbon Dioxide transportation. Known as a knowledge leader in this sector WSP holds some key roles supporting both industry and government in helping this emerging nascent industry to develop.

At WSP, our team of Gas and Hydrogen experts understand the regional complexities and local subtleties of addressing the need to decarbonise. By supporting and advising the sector to change we can help create a sustainable and resilient future for business operations, communities, and the natural environment.

There are many exciting opportunities to work with local and international teams within our Gas and Hydrogen discipline as well as clients in other industries, including energy, mining, nuclear and renewable energy, building services, highways and environmental & flood risk management.

All in a day’s work

We asked our graduates what it’s like to do their job. On a day to day basis, the life of a graduate at WSP starts off in the morning with cups of tea or coffee and responding to any urgent client emails.

Beyond that, anything could happen! You could be involved in report writing, modelling or design calculations in 3D software packages. Your day could also involve visiting site and liaising with contractors, discussing options for concept designs with colleagues, responding to client requests for information or meetings with the team about the scope and progress of projects.

Naturally, there is a lot to learn and you are likely to be guided through complex software packages, team briefings and client updates from the start.
