"I am in a Graduate Network of like-minded individuals around the country, and very much enjoy and benefit from meeting, working and contacting them on a regular basis."
Having obtained my Civil Engineering degree from the University of Liverpool in 2009, I joined WSP as a Graduate Engineer in the Development Infrastructure team in Birmingham in April 2012.
So far, I have had involvement in a number of exciting projects; big and small, public and private sector, individually and within a team. I have also been given the opportunity to work in a local authority office, where I was seconded for 2 days/week for approximately 9 months. I have gained experience in multi-disciplinary projects, and have been given the chance to work within other teams of the Birmingham Office. The multi-disciplinary aspect of WSP was one of my key reasons for joining, and the experiences I have been provided with haven’t failed to deliver in meeting my hopes and expectations.
I am in a Graduate Network of like-minded individuals around the country, and very much enjoy and benefit from meeting, working and contacting them on a regular basis. Closer to home, I enjoy the day-to-day tasks of my role and take pride in the team and office in which I operate. I am grateful to now be able to provide support and aid the training of the newer members of my team and the office. While the Graduate Network and my team provide various social opportunities, I am also the Chair of the Birmingham Office Social Club, providing me with further experiences and opportunities.
I am encouraged and determined by the expansions, promotions and appointments I have witnessed on a local and global scale since joining, and look forward to progressing further with WSP on a personal and professional level.
