Gradcracker works here's the proof
"I have been working alongside many highly experienced professionals who are very helpful and supportive."
Choosing to work for WSP was an easy decision. WSP is one of the world’s leading engineering and design consultancies and I had seen the variety of major projects that WSP had worked on. I joined the company in February 2012 after graduating from Cardiff University with a BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
I started working in the water team and I was given real responsibilities from day one. My work was involved in water projects from hydraulic modelling to flow survey management for a water authority. I played a key role in developing automated software to enhance the project delivery. Undertaking a big scale wastewater project has enabled me to attain a broad understanding of wastewater sewer networks and the criteria by which they are assessed. I have since taken the opportunity to join the structures team where I am involved in a diverse range of projects including structural design, structural analysis, new bridge design and civil engineering. Opportunities to deal with clients directly have helped me to gain experience of client interaction and strong commercial knowledge.
I have been working alongside many highly experienced professionals who are very helpful and supportive. They have supported me in pursuing experiences that are important to my career plans and becoming chartered is very much encouraged. So far, my experience at WSP has varied, not only from different industry sectors but also within different working environments including a brief secondment to another consultancy). This has enabled me to develop a flexible and adaptive approach to work and expose myself to the demands of both public and private sector clients. I am looking forward to use this breadth of experience to gain chartered status in the near future.
