We are excited to be looking for a Structural Engineering Apprentice based in Manchester! You will work towards achieving a Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering.

About the role:

You will utilise your skills, qualifications, experience and knowledge to work together in a motivated and integrated team, with clearly defined reporting lines, roles, responsibilities and authorities.

A Structural Engineering Apprentice will assist in the delivery of structural technical solutions, providing support to the other technicians and engineers in your team.

Your main responsibilities can include:

• Supporting the wider business units to gain a broader understanding of structural engineering
• Supporting the structural lead as required in the delivery of technical outputs of projects and the seamless sharing of information with other discipline teams
• Production of CAD drawings, and developing design skills through various software
• Preparation of simple calculations to support design development
• Gaining experience in preparation of reports, drawings and specifications

Here's What You'll Need:

• Predicted Grade C or above in A Level (or equivalent) in Maths
• Grade 5 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Consideration will also be given to those who do not currently meet the above minimum grades but who are about to undertake exams which could provide the candidate with the required minimum grades.

Desirable Skills & Characteristics:

• Strong numeracy skills
• Confident communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience of using Microsoft Office packages; particularly Microsoft Excel

You should be able to demonstrate that you are/have:

• A well-mannered and professional individual with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• A keen interest in a career in Structural Engineering within the engineering & construction environment.
