Our Environment, Maritime and Resilience (EMR) Operating Unit provides a focus for advising our clients on environmental and sustainability challenges, and supporting them to engage with communities and understand what really matters. As a leader in the environment sector we are at the forefront of consenting some of the most important infrastructure and buildings being planned and implemented across the UK and Ireland today, from highways and rail, to power and petrochemical programmes.
EMR has in excess of 1000 professionals covering over 30 disciplines, which includes our Town Planning team. Jacobs therefore provides one of the largest and most technically diverse capabilities in the planning and environmental sector.
Our work of providing planning services is of critical importance to our clients, local communities and industry, ensuring that major projects can proceed to successful planning outcomes, whilst utilising best practice and creative approaches to problem solving. Our team currently comprises of approximately 40 Town Planners based in key strategic locations across the UK and Ireland, providing technical support to a wide range of development projects especially large infrastructure and public building schemes. This team continues to grow in line with increases in workload.
