Jacobs across the UK is committed to early careers and in 2018 launched a new internship programme in several of its offices. This new programme is aimed towards undergraduates who are either currently studying for or have completed a principal degree and have a gap before starting a postgraduate course.


About us.

We currently have an opportunity for an Intern Economist within our Economics and Strategic Business Advisory team based in London. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

  • Take a central role in undertaking research and analytical tasks including market data analysis, economic and financial modelling and report writing.
  • Assist on providing advice on infrastructure projects, help on writing business cases to help state and federal government agencies secure funding and conducting key technical aspects of projects with the guidance and support of our senior economists.

Business Unit Description.

We currently have an opportunity for an Intern Consultant within our Strategic Consultancy team based in Dublin. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities. The Strategic Consultancy business covers our Transport Consultancy, Management Consultancy, Economics & Advisory and Asset Management practices, and we are keen to hear from Interns who are interested in one or more of these areas.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

To succeed in this role, it is important that you feel comfortable writing reports as well as undertaking the technical modelling and analysis. Strong presentation skills would also be an advantage.



  • Our ideal candidate would be in their penultimate year studying towards 2:1 BSc in Finance or related field
  • Have a keen interest in the economic analysis field as well as experience in the transport, infrastructure, mining or natural resource sectors would be advantageous.
  • Have a keen interest in policy analysis, investment appraisal and business case development would also be favourable.
  • Have a keen interest in economics and are excited by the opportunities provided by a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, then we are keen to hear from you.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.

You will join us in the summer period and join our community of interns under our programme called Jacobs Campus. This new programme will allow you to work with a mentor who will work with you in identifying areas of learning so that when you leave you have a portfolio of learning experiences to refer to. There will also be opportunities to network through your community and other networks across Jacobs in various experiences that will be on offer
